CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH WHIPPED CREAM

DESSERTS became my heartthrob. I was thinking who to blame ..... the exotic, wonderful, culinary experts I came across? I say cheers to all of them I met until now.

In another sense, the blame game is pretty interesting, we tend to blame every other person except ourselves. Hence, no point wasting time on it. Let us give every bit of us for the good of this universe, save it!

Day before yesterday, I was just thinking what to do with the chocolates that are showered on me by my kids on their birthdays. Piled up in refrigerator, son thinks eating them would be a threat to his teen-hood. Hence, this idea popped up....why not bake a chocolate cake with Cadbury? I am poor at garnishing, toppings, dressing but it tasted good they say. Let us do a bit of self promotion. Try this simple bake. You would not regret!

This is 26th October, 2025, I thought of baking it again, update this blogpost! Since last evening, attempts after attempts are leaving me with dissatisfaction! I would not get something to blog I am not satisfied with. The first attempt was done with Meiji's black chocolate I get from Daiso, Japan. The cake was tasting good but something was going amiss.

I made a second attempt with Oreo biscuits, I was tired. It tasted great, like mud cake, then this blogpost is not about mud cake.

I made a third attempt this morning, I had to, I went crazy out of dissatisfaction. Again, I used Oreo biscuits. I baked a small one, captured all steps. I do not wish to decorate cakes, not good at it. Because this blogpost was written back in 2014, I had to buy whipped cream. I love whipped cream on fruits, but should we eat it? No, we would not!

INGREDIENTS : (for Chocolate Cake)

Oreo Biscuit : 200-250 gm
Refined Flour : 2 tbsp
Baking Powder : 1/2 tsp
Sugar : 2 tbsp
Oil : 1 tbsp
Milk : 1/2 coffee mug
Vanilla Essence : 1 tsp [I skipped]

INGREDIENTS : (for topping)

Whipped Cream : As Required

METHOD :

Powder Oreo Biscuits! Add flour, baking powder, fold in well.

Add rest of ingredients except whipped cream, beat well for 3-4 minutes! Your cake mix is ready.

Preheat oven at 160*C[my machine's set temperature]. Grease cake tin with oil, place butter paper at bottom! Pour cake mix.

Mine is convection mode microwave oven. I placed low height wired stand inside, preheated oven at 160*C.

Thereafter, I placed cake tin with batter atop it, baked at 160* C for 30 mins.

Check by inserting a fork in middle. If it comes out clean, your cake is done. Let it cool completely, then  transfer to a plate.

My readymade whipped cream bottle came with nozzle. I squeezed just, not good at decorating cakes! It's tasting great but, do try!
