MICROWAVE E TETUL MURGI

In such grave situation, I would share recipes that help us cook simple dishes that uses less ingredients available at moderate prices without hassle. I cannot stop cooking, it helps me remain less stressed. You can understand what we are going through as board examinee parents. We do not know how things are going to work out for our kids in next few months. Kids who might be going abroad for further studies, cannot apply for their visas at this moment, the concerned offices are closed for good. In this scenario, we can cook what takes less time, also look good on plate. I hope, you may wish to cook, serve your family this chicken curry done with some basic kitchen spices, tamarind juice, curry leaves; MICROWAVE E TETUL MURGI. All of my readers know I am not too fond of chicken; I don't wish to quit it either. What I do is get country chicken for our regular curries. Light curry prepared with country chicken I can eat with rice or chapati. My family should be able to eat my cooking. As family we enjoy bharta, non-vegetarian curries, dal is must for me, son, Cristine; I must cook a vegetarian dish for entire family. My family doesn't enjoy salad. Else in this time of crisis, I could limit my cooking to "luchi-aloor dom-salad", "chicken / egg tehri & salad", "prawn / maacher kofta polao o salad". That would have helped me cook fresh, one pot meals. I want more and more time to sit idle, crib about what is going to happen next, get flaks from the man in return. Some of you know his temper, but he has lot more qualities,"kucch paney ke liye bahut kucch khona parta hai."

Okay, I don't blame the man, in fact I am forgetting he is working from home. They are over stressed thinking of many sea-farers stranded at different ports of world. They can't be sent back home, that's risky. Merchant Ships are in run, else how do we get our produce? In every sector, some are risking their lives to keep majority of us alive. Let us respect their labour following guidelines we have been asked to. I shall always keep my land of origin close to my heart, not when they flock in groups, walk in processions for no reasons. People in my land have to learn pandemic isn't indefinite "bandh" for them, they cannot be in picnic mood. Stay indoors as per instructions. Eat Bhelpuri, biscuits, tea from time to time. Yes, I am insane enough to have below for my breakfast. You can't rob me of all pleasures in life. I have to have food of choice to survive!

In this situation, I am not even thinking of preparing Bhelpuri at home, may get more packs on next visit to super store. This tamarind-curry leaf chicken MICROWAVE E TETUL MURGI was cooked in the microwave few months back, again earlier this month. I think, I should cook it often. It will go well with plain rice, even "patla ruti."

INGREDIENTS :

CHICKEN : 1KG MEDIUM CUT [I USE COUNTRY CHICKEN]
TAMARIND JUICE : 1 MEDIUM SIZED TEA CUP
GINGER PASTE : 2 TBSP
GARLIC PASTE : 1 TBSP
ONION PASTE : 3-4 TBSP
GREEN CHILLI PASTE : 3-4 TBSP
CURRY LEAF : 10-12
TURMERIC POWDER : 1 TSP
SALT : AS REQUIRED
HOT WATER : 1 COFFEE MUG
OIL : 2TBSP

PROCEDURE :

I soaked required amount of store bought tamarind paste in water for tamarind juice. I soaked a tbsp of tamarind in small bowl of water for 1/2 an hour, strained to get required amount of tamarind juice.

We will marinate washed chicken pieces with turmeric powder, salt, 1 tbsp oil, red chilli powder, taken in microwave proof bowl!

We would keep marinated chicken aside for an hour.

We would warm 1 tbsp oil in wok, fry crisp curry leaves, take out.

Next would add turmeric powder + salt + ginger + garlic + green chilli + onion pastes to wok, stir cook for 3-4 minutes.

Thereafter, we would add cooked paste, tamarind juice to chicken!

We will cover bowl with microwave proof lid, microwave at quick cooking mode for 10 minutes. We will take bowl out, remove cover, stir. Cook again at quick mode for 10 minutes.

We would stir again, add hot water, cook at quick cooking mode for 15 minutes, covered! We would add fried curry leaves! We should be done!
