Okay, something interesting is happening in Netflix; the series Mamla Legal Hai, I ain't television buff, bread winner is! I watched lot until 2006! Mumma, toddler son, Sushoma didi, Deepa didi lived together, watched soaps. We needed to watch while feeding him, 2-3 hours he would take per meal. His father did all these with patience until he was 1&1/2 years old. Re-building myself along with son, I learnt patience. Once he reached 2&1/2 years of age; Deepa, Sushoma went back home. At that point, I felt watching daily soaps is not right thing for son given his age. I had to divert his mind. We continued with Thomas The Tank Engine, Dora The Explorer, few more. That time Kolkata television network aired great Telefilms; I would rent CDs of good movies.
Saraswati, a part-timer was all through beside me, her younger son Pratik too; Asking Pratik to play with him, I would go shopping for essentials. Both sides of family had been great support, if I couldn't handle my home, why did I start staying in an individual home? Some friends would go live with their family the moment their men sailed, I scolded. Friendship, any relationship demands transparency! Each one of us are different, need overcome differences, maintain relationships.
Saying all these time & again, I am not claiming back anything from son, we miss him, the father doesn't express, I do! He has to call us regular, send updates. Missing him, I remember the sleepless nights on days he refused nasal drops, kept crying. I wouldn't inform family until I met Dr. Deepak Ray next morning, his paediatrician since his birth. How mothers would turn him mad, doctors in Singapore have no idea how mothers like me, patients can nag doctors. The complicated cases South Asian doctors handle attending questionnaire from uneducated mass, here medical experts can't think in island with 5* facilities, the government hospital doctors there are at receiving end, overwhelming patients vs financial crunch! No offence meant Singapore & West, medical experts know what hazards can acute poverty malnutrition may get!
The son's father would warn me over phone not to disturb doctors. We changed neighbourhood, came in paediatrician Anindya Kundu, such calm. Son was 15 when we visited for his last vaccine, he recognised me, asked me "apnake chena lagchey, cheley niye ashten!" Why not? For small matters, I would call him. He was in standard-2, in school he had stomach ache, we mothers would sit at Haji Saheb's home outside of school, the moment nurses told he is in day care bed, I took him to Dr. Anindya Kundu's home in Salt Lake although nurses told nothing serious it was. He was kind enough to check him, he was getting ready for nap before running to Charnock hospital in evening.
What was hilarious is the hospital was in neighbourhood, I refused to wait until evening! If you have friends like Kana, panic state is natural. Those days Dr. Amitabha Pahari was big name attached to Apollo Hospital, the moment one friend cum sister, Suparna's elder son would have fever, she would call me, "S didi, get ready, lets go to Dr. Pahari immediately"! Then one day, Dr.Pahari told her calmly, "you need not come with his fever to me! I have critical child patients to treat!" The breadwinner gave us every luxury, all of us girls one day told our kids need fathers, not chauffeurs! They chose Mumbai, own properties, I chose Singapore, peace and security over owning property! May be we don't have that financial strength to have all together. Thanks to my parents' way of upbringing, mother, maternal grandmother's love for academics; our son's MS degree with good score is more happening! Another son like's great score with scholarship wasn't matching the job offers he got, I told if you compromise that would be disrespecting your abilities, go for MS. If I could motivate these boys & girls a little bit, my life is fulfilled! All these I keep saying time & again. At times I try give suggessions to established selves, don't know if they flak me at my back!
Tomorrow we would be attending marriage reception, all friends, hosts would wear heavy jewelry, saris; I would go minimal; I don't own many, neither have urge. I love antic silver jewelry, don't invest much, thankful to parents again. The Bread winner can't say I broke peace demanding this, that! Yet, life is never straight line, we are bound to face ups & downs. Fear of what's next is the only fear I live with, it escalated once son left home. Enjoy your time together, give your family your utmost! Don't calculate! It hurts when I hear about broken homes, I don't judge, I say if you have built a home, don't break it over trivial issues, kids get affected. Neither anyone can live together with wide differences.
We cannot reach conclusions for all matters, an escapist like me avoids giving dictates, I am pacifying kind, better at spreading love through practising my interests, serve home cooked food on your plates. The bread winner is home today, I cooked lovely chicken roast for lunch!
BTW, on occasion of Poila Baishak / Bengali New Year, snack loving Bengalis may need above mustard-mango sauce / Kashundi, I made at home!
In chaos, choice of food brings comfort. San-wich sweet treats are my favourite, homemade Dalia treats too are.
Even my cautious self crosses boundaries, mere mortals, lives can't be totally measured! My VEGAN GLUTEN-FREE COFFEE CAKE is minutely executed, measured treat! At one point I faced confusion, beautifully handled. I loved a big piece today with tea!
I baked two dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free treats yesterday, above went for a dear, met over dinner at Kenny Roger's Roaster's at City Square Mall. While you try this cake done with gluten-free flours, oats, banana, olive oil, walnuts, let me get pictures sooner to my public profile!

I roughly browsed few coffee cakes in the internet, went my way!
PROCEDURE :
Initially, I mixed coffee with flours, we wouldn't do that, instead dilute coffee granules in warm water. Also sprinkled some sugar before baking, we should always do that after it cools post baking!
Mix together dry ingredients except coffee granules, sugar.
Dilute coffee granules in warm water. I used 50 gm of coconut powder, diluted it in 1 coffee mug warm water. Add both coffee, coconut milk to dry ingredients mix.
Wash, peel banana, blend together with sugar, oil, vinegar.
Add to batter, also vanilla essence, broken walnuts.
Beat, pour into cake tin. Our batter is ready!
Place cake stand inside oven, convection mode microwave oven in my case. Preheat oven at 180*C!
Place the cake tin atop stand. Bake at 180*C for 25 minutes. Temperature settings differ from machine to machine, be careful about time taken.
